With a set of entries in sections I, II and III of the German land register (Grundbuch) for your property, the property can be protected in such a way that you could defend yourself against a compulsory mortgage (Zwangshypothek) in the event of a Lastenausgleich. Combined with the individual contracts that go with them, the entries also protect against other measures, such as the consequences of personal insolvency or seizures.

All measures are reversible, so you can sell your property at any time. As there is no change of ownership in the land register, your tax position stays unchanged.
